PLAYWRIGHT and COMPOSER/LYRICIST

(and DIRECTOR OF THE CARLINVILLE IL AND PONTIAC IL PRODUCTIONS) - CHERYL EICHAR JETT

Route 66 author and historian Cheryl Eichar Jett is the author of six books and over 100 historical articles. For several years she has been researching the lives and work of women along Route 66 for a forthcoming book, and has crystalized her research into a two-act play, Aprons Away: Women’s Work on the Mother Road. Cheryl comes from a family of musicians and theater performers. She is also an award-winning writer of short fiction, holds a graduate degree in history from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and was the founder in 2015 of the annual Miles of Possibility Route 66 Conference.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Liz fell in love with performing at a young age. She has served in almost every capacity of production teams at a variety of theaters - acting, directing, producing, stage managing, lighting and more. Liz has spent over 10 years on the Board of Directors of Vermillion Players, Livingston County’s community theater, and believes deeply in the troupe’s mission and purpose. Liz lives in Pontiac with her boyfriend Doug and their two cats. She is thrilled to call the theater her “job” as the Facility Manager of The Eagle Performing Arts & Conference Center and loves being part of the Pontiac Tourism team. Aprons Away is a collision of her biggest passions - theater, history and Route 66 - and the opportunity to bring this show to Pontiac and perform in it is such an honor for her.
